Vintage Christian Dior Rhinestone Jewelry

Hi Bling Lovers,   I am searching for vintage Christian Dior jewelry on-line. I can’t find anything as lovely as the demi parure I have. My set includes a huge red and clear rhinestone necklace with beautiful matching earrings. I believe the signature indicates the piece is from the 1950s or 1960s.   Anyone have any big Dior rhinestone pieces? I saw one set for around $2,000, but it wasn’t half as lovely as the set I have.  It will be for sale at berniesvintage.com. I am going to wear it to the Angel”s Ball in December before I let it go. So pretty, but I have to share my bling.  I can’t wear it all and I want to collect more.

I purchased a vintage necklace from a reputable antique jeweler. I was told it was christian dior 1950’s. it is a marbelized blue torquoise bib. However, I am concerned that it is unsigned. The clasp only says “france”. I paid 2,000. Is this a legitimate piece?

    • Hello, I might be able to give you some helpful information if you send me a picture of the piece. I would love to see the signature and the entire necklace. There are several different signatures used by Christian Dior. I found out some background on my necklace and earrings by googling Christian Dior Signatures. If you send me the picture I will take a look for you. I love my Chris. Dior Necklace and it would take $2,000.00 for me to part with it. Bernie

    • Hello, I wrote back on the blog but wanted to let you know if you can send me a picture I will try to get some information for you. I can’t really tell much without the picture.

    Hi!
I stoped on your site because of the beautiful necklace you posted.
I wonder if you want and can help me. Recently I received as a gift, a Christian Dior necklace in the original box, but it has no signature. It is very old.
Also I received a brooch said to be also a Christian Dior but with no signature. It has on the pin written :”Made in France”.
If you send me an emai (giuliamiacara@gmail.com), I will send you the pictures.
    Thak you in advance!

    • Hello, I would love to see a picture. I have some background and information about costume jewelry. However, I am a new-bee compared to many of my fellow jewel collectors. I know Christian Dior changed its mark when it was manufactured in different locations. My set was manuafactured in Germany and the mark uses a abbreviation for part of the name. I did read somewhere there was a time when Christian Dior pieces were unsigned but had a gold tag with the name. I do not know it it is true. There is a web store called Illision Jewels run by an expert. You can google her store. She has marks for various manufacturers listed. She also has some interesting articles about the various disigners. I also have the Illision Jewels link listed at http://berniesvintage.com

Please send me a picture. You can email it to berniceb@peak.org. I will see if my expert group recognizes the piece you have. I do so love bling!
      Cheers, Bernie

Hi Bernie, what do you think of vintage Christian Dior clip-on earrings? I have a few, as well as Givenchy, on my Etsy shop: http://www.etsy.com/shop/StAugustineVintage?ref=si_shop. Take a look and let me know what you think. Am I pricing correctly? Thanks, Kara

  8. Hi Bernie
Beautiful necklace! I have a beautiful Dior brooch for sale in my shop. It’s signed 1964 Germany Christian Dior and is such good quality. I sell antique and vintage jewelry and collectibles in my shop on Etsy and this is the first Dior brooch I’ve had. You can see the quality in these pieces. The stones look like real gemstones and Diamonds. Please check it out at
    http://www.Etsy.com/shop/belmontandbellamy
I would be grateful if you could let me know what you think and if I am pricing correctly.
    Regards
    Angela

I have a 1959 Christian Dior Necklace with matching Clip on ear rings. I think it is ,maybe, Rubies and Diamonds. It has sentimental value, but I do not know what the monetary value is. How can I find out?

    • If you don’t want to get an appraisal you can use web searches to get a good idea of the value. Using Ebay, I searc for sold items. I may also look for “buy it now” prices. In addition, I do look on both Ruby Lane and on Etsy. Ruby Lane is more upscale sellers who often specialize in vintage costume jewelry. Etsy is a reality check. These are more casual sellers and often sell a bit lower than I would. I also have books on vintage costume jewelry. Sometimes I see a similiar piece in the books. Your library may have copies of these types of books. I also belong to a jewelry email group. They don’t share prices but most of the people in the group sell vintage jewelry on line. I look at their sites. Christian Dior is one of the higher valued designer. I sold my set for $750. I believe it was worth over $1200 but I was happy to sell it to a bride in China. Good luck. Bernie
